    Process

    From Idea to Finished Room.

Every great room starts with understanding how you want to use it.

Whether we're transforming an existing space or working alongside your builder on a new home, The Smoking Room Co. provides a clear path from the first conversation through final implementation.

    1. 01 — Initial Conversation

Let's talk about what you're imagining.

Every project begins with a conversation.

We'll discuss the space, how you want to use it, what you're hoping to create, and any challenges or questions you already have.

From there, we'll determine whether The Smoking Room Co. is the right fit for your project and recommend the next step.

    2. 02 — On-Site Consultation

We start with the room itself.

For residential projects, we'll evaluate the space in person whenever practical.

Depending on the project, we'll review room dimensions, existing HVAC, doors and windows, potential exhaust locations, electrical considerations, layout opportunities, finishes, and other conditions that may influence the design.

For new construction, we can also review plans and consult alongside your builder before the room is built.

    3. 03 — Project Proposal

A plan built around your space.

Following the consultation, we'll develop a project proposal outlining the recommended scope of work, design services, anticipated deliverables, and project investment.

Whenever practical, we'll present the proposal with you so we can walk through the recommendations together, answer questions, and make sure the scope reflects what you're trying to accomplish.

    4. 04 — Design & Planning

This is where the room takes shape.

Once the project is approved, we begin developing your room-specific design.

Depending on the service selected, this may include:

      • Existing room assessment
      • Airflow and pressure analysis
      • Ventilation strategy
      • Cooling recommendations
      • Equipment specifications
      • Layout drawings
      • Finish and surface recommendations
      • Furniture and interior direction
      • Installation notes
      • Contractor checklist
      • Maintenance recommendations

Everything is developed around the conditions, goals, and intended use of your specific space.

    5. 05 — Your Design Package

A clear plan your contractor can execute.

Your completed project is delivered as a polished Design & Implementation Package that brings the recommendations together in one place.

Rather than handing your contractor a collection of ideas, you'll have a clear roadmap showing what goes where, what equipment is specified, and how the major elements of the room are intended to work together.

The Smoking Room Co. provides design and consulting services. Construction and installation are performed by contractors hired directly by the client. For Upstate SC clients, contractor referrals are available upon request.

    6. 06 — Build Support

We're still available when the work begins.

Questions can arise once a design leaves the page and enters the room.

Your project includes a post-delivery review during implementation, and we'll be available to clarify design intent and help address questions related to the plan.

When appropriate, we can also communicate directly with your contractor to help ensure the design is understood as intended.

    7. 07 — The Finished Room

Designed for the way you'll actually use it.

Once the work is complete, we'll conduct a final review where appropriate and document the finished project.

Select completed projects may also receive professional photography for inclusion in The Smoking Room Co. portfolio.

    One Final Detail

And every completed TSRC project gets one final detail.

    Ready to Start?

You don't need architectural plans. You don't need to know what exhaust fan to buy. You don't need to have every detail figured out.

You just need a room and an idea of what you'd like it to become.

    We'll take it from there.
